March 07 Meeting

Candlelight Photography

Have you ever tried it?  For this meeting we intend to do a little practical photography with a lot of help on hand for those who require it.

You will require:

  1. Your camera
  2. A tripod

But, don't worry if you don't have a tripod as we are asking those members who do have more than one tripod to bring them all along.

We will supply:

  1. A comfy winged chair (for our model)
  2. A table
  3. A pot plant
  4. A curtain background
  5. A candle
  6. Oh, and a model to sit for us.

However, before this, David has agreed to deliver once again, part of his presentation on understanding the basic requirements of the camera to assist you take your candlight photographs.

This will be a really good evening with plenty of help on hand and hopefully we will all learn something new.

Now, I've never tried this type of photography before but it's easy enough.  My effort is below.  My camera is limited to a 15 sec exposure.  Not quite long enough (picture on left) and yet with Photoshop I managed to achieve the improved photo.  I know it's not great but we will all do better on the night.
